Legislature of Langston
The Legislature of Langston is the supreme policy-making authority of the region of Langston. The body is tasked with creating, debating, and voting on legislation. The Legislature is where many things can happen, however it is known to be a venue for discussion between the Cabinet. The Legislature's de facto job is to ensure accountability in the Cabinet, and will keep them in a liable position.
Any nation can join the Legislature by filling out a simple form which can be accessed here. Any citizen of Langston, in good practice, can join the Legislature. They are subject to be expelled by the Chair (with a vote of Legislators needed) for disorderly conduct or any manner of an action resembling that.
The Legislature is led by a Chair, officially named the Chair of the Legislature, and is free to appoint as many deputies or clerks of the body as they please. The current Chair of the Assembly is Maluhia, acting in an interim capacity. There are no deputies or clerks of the Legislature.

Q. If I'm a citizen, can I join the Legislature?
A. Yes! All citizens with an activated forum account may join the Legislature. They are subject to Legislator checks by the Citizenship Committee, a committee who deals with the Legislator applications, resignations, and "purges".
Q. What's a "purge?"
The "purge" is an event that happens monthly by the Citizenship Commission. If a Legislator does not meet the voting requirement as outlined in the Charter, they are to be unmasked as a Legislator and can no longer participate in the halls of legislation without re-applying.
Q. Are there committees? How do they work?
There are! There are three committees: Citizenship, Regional Security, and Policy. Citizenship deals with, aforementioned, Legislator applications, purges, and resignations. The Regional Security Committee deals with intelligence factors and security probes. The Policy Commitee basically does...everything else.
Q. How do Legislators join a committee?
The Citizenship and Regional Security committees are by Legislature-approval only. Only trusted, experienced Legislators may join these committees, and they are nominated by the Prime Minister with advice and consultation from their respective Cabinet. The Policy Committee is made up of around fifteen Legislators who aren't part of another committee. They are also trusted and have experience in the legislative field of Langston. To join a committee, each member needs Legislature approval.
